Tasked to create a tool to track permit applications through their lifecycle, I led a project team to map their application process. Facilitating conversation with leadership, planners and integrating applicant feedback, it became clear that the tool already existed but that redundancy, ambiguity and muddle entangled the ease of flow. Exhausted by the overwhelm of a backlog, continuous negative feedback from the community and gaps in leadership, the climate of the Planning Division was ready to be rejuvenated and the permitting process to be mended.

Breathing to life the words painted on a wall or hidden under layers on the company website, the values are more than a short collection of inspiring words. Collaborating with leadership to define the vision of how the organizational values guide the purpose of day-to-day work, I designed a series of workshops to connect people to the ways of being that organizational values call forward.
